To get here I came up from Keystone, Colorado (the nearest gas) through Montezuma, Colorado (no stores at all in town). I went south from there and made my way up Webster Pass. On the Honda CRF300L none of this was in any way difficult.

I went up to the summit of Webster Pass assuming I would take Red Cone down towards highway 285. I discovered Red Cone is actually one way in the wrong direction. The descent of Webster Pass on the other side was mostly blocked by snow but I was able to go around it on my motorcycle. This allowed me to go all the way down to highway 285 then proceed eastward towards Fairplay, Colorado. If you choose to go this route it is all dirt until 285. Based off the signage some of the dirt road is actually a public road, not an OHV trail. That's something to consider if your OHV vehicle is not street legal.
