Parks on the air at US-3042 Mother Neff State Park

Justin (AI5OS, in picture) and myself activated Mother Neff State Park. There is a trailhead with some aluminum park benches. I actually put the floor mats from the back of the truck on the park bench because the metal was cold enough I did not want to sit directly on it. We started on 20 meters but decided to move to 17 meters because of the ongoing contest this same weekend.

We used the portable vertical antenna I designed for this purpose as well as my Yaesu FT-100 mounted on the aluminum sled with batteries.
